This website is run by the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

• change colours, contrast levels and fonts
• zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
• navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
• navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
• listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to:

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.




• Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

• There is an issue with tabbing between 2 links without a mouse. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.1.3: Keyboard (No Exception).



We plan to fix this keyboard issue by November 2020. There is an alternative link in the header to Register which is accessible by keyboard.

• There are PDF documents dating back to 2016 which are not fully accessible



We plan to fix this issue by May 2021 via a review of the method of publication and publish PDF content from September 2018 onwards as HTML/web pages. PDFs which need to remain in that format will made accessible.


• Disproportionate burden



• The portal has gone extensive development and redesign using accessibility best practice. More content, navigation and improved features have been delivered in January 2021. Accessibility to WCAG 2.1 standards will be built into this development by the supplier. An accessibility audit by a 3rd party expert will be completed following development and any changes to the portal to comply fully to WCAG 2.1 will be made by April 2021.

• Navigation and accessing information

• There’s no way to skip the repeated content in the page header (for example, a ‘skip to main content’ option).

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We have tested the site internally using accessibility web tools and provided fixes to those urgent errors that we found.

We are currently developing the website to be able to add accessible HTML documents and accessible PDFs.

We are scheduling in an external company to review the portal on completion of a large development project launched in January 2021. We will mitigate any changes found as part of that audit.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 5th October 2020. It was last reviewed on 21st January 2021.

This website was last tested on 28/09/2020. The test was carried out by the Judicial Office Digital Team.

An updated version of the website has launched on 21 January 2021; a full audit of the website will be prepared by a 3rd party accessibility provider by April 2021. Any remediation required will be completely shortly after.
